Gene Roberts, a life-long professional educator, with these qualifications:
1947-1956 Junior High School Science Teacher (9 years)
1957-1964 Assistant Principal, P.S. 123 Queens (7 years)
1964-1980 Principal P.S. 160 Queens (16 years)
1980-Present Adjunct assistant professor of education at Southampton College, C.W. Post College, Dowling College, Queens College; has trained and taught hundreds of young teachers and student teachers.
Founder of Robin Hood Day Camp in Queens in 1953 and still in operation.
Founder of Robin Hood Country Day School in 1957. "Uncle" Gene has devoted a lifetime of service to children and to parents.

Paula Roberts is also a life-long career educator. Her career began as a kindergarten teacher. Her background and experience includes:
Founder of Robin Hood Day Camp in Queens with her husband Gene in 1953.
Director of Robin Hood Country Day School since 1957.
Director of the Nursery School at Robin Hood which has earned an outstanding reputation in the field.
Past President of the Nassau-Suffolk Council for Early Childhood Education.
Founder of the Roslyn Creative Workshops for Children.

Paula has translated her love of family to the love of every child who attends Robin Hood.

Glenn Roberts is a full time director at Robin Hood. After growing up at Robin Hood, Glenn completed his education at Washington University (Summa Cum Laude) and Hofstra Law School. "Uncle Glenn" is familiar with all aspects of the operation and will carry on the tradition of excellence for which Robin Hood Country Day School is known.

He is past President of the Long Island Association of Private Schools and Day Camps, Past Vice president of the American Camping Association (New York Section), Board of Trustee New York Camp Director's Association, Member of the Joint Legislative Committee for NYSCDA, ACA and LIAPSDC.

Glenn will carry on the tradition of excellence for which Robin Hood Country Day School is known.

Kathie Roberts Lieberman is also a Director. Like her brother, she grew up at Robin Hood and is familiar with all phases of the operation. She is an experienced attorney, knows the children and their parents.

Laurie Roberts Karol is also a Director at Robin Hood. She holds a B.S. from Boston University and M.B.A from New York University. In addition, to upholding the role of Chief Financial Officer, Laurie is involved with the day-to-day operation of Robin Hood.

With Glenn, Kathie and Laurie, the Roberts family will continue to serve your children and grandchildren.

Bob Newman, our Assistant director, has been with Robin Hood since 1992. In 2000, he became a certified Camp Safety Director who never waivers when it comes to safety. Bob brings to Robin Hood a deep love of children, dedication and commitment.

Meet The Staff

We take great pride in our staff. It consists of a licensed teacher for every group, plus four college trained counselors for each group.
The teachers are mature, experienced, and caring. In addition to the teacher group leaders, we have special licensed teachers for nature, tennis, swimming, arts and crafts, soccer, gymnastics, music, dance, and horseback riding.

A registered nurse is on our premises at all times.
